DO YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE?

Have you struggled or been abused because you are different?

Do you think you are not good enough?

PSYCHOTHERAPY CAN HELP…

• You can learn versatility and adaptability in facing the challenges of everyday life, the intricacies of gender, or communicating with a partner with a history of trauma
• You can heal from deep trauma, from neglect to abuse, so you can be in charge of your life, and regain your authentic self
• You can access your deeper emotions and beliefs through journaling and art therapy.
• You can heal and grow within the transformative alliance between client and therapist.

TRAUMA IS NOT VERBAL

I use a variety of techniques that allow you to access and deal with the source of your distress in non-verbal ways.  I am experienced in working with trans issues; I am kink aware.  You can rely on my non-judgmental approach and total confidentiality and support.

ABOUT ME

I immigrated from the UK thirty-two years ago, and my life changed in ways I never expected. After years as teacher, mother, editor and writer, I decided to become a psychotherapist, a calling that uses all those skills and more. So back I went to school at the age of 50, and received my MSW from Catholic University in 1996. I began my career with an agency treating the chronically mentally ill and developmentally delayed; then joined a mobile crisis team. I came to Whitman-Walker Health in April 2002 to work with clients with histories of complex sexual, physical or emotional abuse.  I began my private practice in 1998, and intend to continue serving my clients for many years to come.
